I actually do mine as left and right sides vs front and back. So, I just do two legs. I also make regular pull on soakers...
Pattern Three:My "new" and improved pattern, this is for what I HOPE is an infant/nb size as I've done two of them for my new baby. I've kept better notes for this one.
KP 2.5 worsted weight wool only ONE weight per side of hem vs two as usual. Flat finished size = 6in across waist, 8 1/4 in at widest across butt, 18in length total, 3 in across ankle. The result has a band that I fold over and ankles that fold over, it should be similar in style to the one here:
http://www.birdcrossstitch.com/organ...woolpants.htmlFor my = row I'm using the counter thingy... and I know I'm off by one at some point LOL, but not quite sure where ROFL.
Couple rows of waste yarn first...
K 2 rows (end on right) = row 2
Inc 1st at beg for 10 rows = row 12
K 30 rows = row 42
Dec 1 @ beg and end x 2 rows (I move one stitch over, don't actually "bind" them) = row 44
Dec 1 @ beg x 5 rows row=53 leaves 35(?) st
K 30 rows = row 83
change to KP 1
K 15 rows in rib
K 1 more row to end on left and stretchy finish.
Carefully remove waste yarn and put stitches on holder. Make two legs.
Remove the stitches carefully from holders and put back onto machine for both sides side by side (this will be so you can make a single band all the way across and only have the seam line in the back.)
(note, no weighted hem used here, so I either use come heavy clippies or carefully pull as I knit.)
KP 1
k 15 rows in rib for band the two regular rows to end on left and bind off stretchy.
= 99 rows total
- approx 8.5 st per 2 inches across and 12 st per 2 inches up and down.
I used Cascade Quattro for one and Nashua Naturals for the other and both used almost exactly 100% of the yarn for one pair of longies... so for bigger sizes you'll need two skiens.
Here is a picture of the longies for pattern three...
